Reporting intern for Our Town | Manhattan, NY (Jan. 2019-May 2019)

Reports on the Upper East Side, covering education, public safety, transportation, urban development as well as arts and culture.

Reporter for the Morning Sentinel | Waterville, ME (Dec. 2017-Aug. 2018)

Covered six towns in central Maine, reporting on education, municipal government, business, crime, white nationalism and right wing radicalism, and spot news; produced about two stories per day; balanced daily stories with in-depth, enterprise work.

Columnist for the Kennebec Journal / Morning Sentinel | Augusta, ME (May 2017-Aug. 2018)

Wrote a bi-weekly column titled “Notes from a Novice,” targeted at millennial and post-graduates living in Maine. The column explored a variety of topics, including culture, technology, relationships, politics and gender norms.

Copy Editor for the Kennebec Journal / Morning Sentinel | Augusta, ME (May 2016-2017)

Designed 8 to 10 pages per evening, including the front page, wire and local sections; edited stories for print and web; wrote headlines for about 20 articles per evening; managed social media and content for the website.

Wrote three articles per week for the news, arts and dining sections; took photos to illustrate articles; contributed story ideas during weekly staff meetings. Two of my stories were chosen as cover stories for the print edition.

Graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication with an emphasis in journalism and media studies. Minored in political science, creative writing and legal studies. Studied abroad in Madrid, Spain for the fall 2014 semester.

Proficient in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, InCopy, Final Cut Pro, Soundtrack Pro, iMovie, as well as operating photo, audio and film equipment. Experienced using TweetDeck and HooteSuite to manage Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
